A fun filled afternoon of hockey at a cool and breezy Wigton HC saw Keswick Mini’s and Junior’s complete their first tournament of the new 2026/27 season ??☔️

U10s kicked us off with some brilliant team play against some strong Penrith and Wigton outfits.
Helping each other with some solid defending, intricate passing and words of encouragement which naturally lead to some great team goals.
We were particularly impressed with their never stop attitude in one of the games where they grabbed 2 late goals to secure an exciting score draw! ?
Well done to Emily B, Rhys, Finn, Holly, Austin, Thomas and Dylan!

U12s were up next and they were equally as good. Determined not to let the Cumbrian weather put them off, Keswick showed off their resilience and played some excellent counter attacking hockey. Again, scoring plenty of team goals.
Constant passing and moving, keeping the opposition teams guessing is encouraging for the season ahead. Keep up the good work troops!
Well done to Dylan, Pip, Holly, Finn, Rhys and Charlotte!

Last but not least were the U14s/U16s Mixed with two hard fought fixtures against Wigton boys and Wigton girls, respectively.
The Keswick side made a great account of themselves putting together some great passages of play and creating plenty of chances in front of goal. Coming away with a respectable 1 loss and 1 win ?
The more they play together, the more they will learn about each other’s game. Let’s keep the numbers up and build some momentum ?
Well done to Seb, Emilie, Wilf, Alex, Hayden, Blair, Zac, Kane, Holly, Leo and Lucy.

Thank you to you grown ups for bringing them through and seeing out those heavy down pours ☔️

Thank you to Team Wigton for hosting and the fabulous hospitality ☕️ ?

Next tournament is away at Penrith on Sunday 18th October ✏️
