Keswick Top Of The League After 3 Games

On Saturday Keswick men’s 2s travelled away to Southport to try to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
Keswick started the game superbly, and were 1-0 within 5 minutes when debutant and man of the match Ronan Kingsbury scored at the back post after a great cross from midfielder Matty Burridge.
Southport rarely threatened the Keswick defence in the first half, leaving the defensive pairing of Will Anderson and Ed Hunter with little to do.
Keswick were looking dominant and went 2-0 up at half time, when Burridge got himself on the scoresheet after a great strike from the edge of the D thundered into the bottom corner of the Southport goal.

In the second half Southport caused Keswick a few problems, and pulled a goal back from a short corner. Despite conceding, Keswick fought hard and finished off the game through striker Jack Law, scoring his fourth goal in 3 games, after full-back Steve Salvesen drew the keeper and squared the ball for Law to finish into an empty net.

Final score 3-1.

Keswick now find themselves unbeaten and at the top of North West Hockey League Division 4 after four games.
Team: Edwards, Salvesen, Hunter, Anderson, Ward, McCully, Burridge, Sloan, Kingsbury, Goodwin, Law, Thomas.
